IMPULSE Café: Labour Migrants’ Mobility, Networks & Local Impacts

The IMPULSE Café is a new monthly space for researchers in forced migration studies to exchange ideas in a relaxed yet focused setting. Each session features two key discussants, a moderator, and an open conversation over coffee.
This first session explores labour migrants’ mobility, networks, and local impacts with insights from:
🔹 Ayesha Hussain (BCDSS, University of Bonn) – Research on migrant workers in Italy
🔹 Dr. Retno Widyastuti (BIGS Oriental & Asian Studies) – Research on migrant workers in Indonesia
🎤 Moderated by Dr. Benjamin Etzold (bicc / BCDSS)
